Prof. Alexander Löser

Prof. Dr. habil. Alexander Löser leads the Data Science Research Group at Beuth University of Applied Sciences Berlin. The group of six professors and several PhD students conducts research in highly visible national programs, such as Smart Data, Berlin Big Data Center or Smart Service World.

Previous stations in his career had been HP Labs Bristol, IBM Almaden Research Center, the research division of the SAP AG and Technische Universität Berlin. His research interests are: in-database Text Mining, deep learning architectures for text mining tasks and Web Scale Analytics.

Alexander published over 50 refereed scientific papers in prestigious international conferences and journals, held more than 70 invited talks, holds 3 granted patents and participated or led 14 national or EU-funded research projects so far.

His research has been incorporated into the commercial product IBM Lotus Notes and SAP HANA. Alexander serves regularly on editorial boards and program committees of international venues in the areas of data management or text mining.
