Kathryn Mackellar

I began working at the University of Sheffield in 2001 and have had the privilege of working on various research projects during this time.

I started working in the Information School in January 2017 as the Research Project Officer for the FashionBrain project.

The FashionBrain project aims at combining data from different sources to support different fashion industry players by predicting upcoming fashion trends from social media as well as by providing personalized recommendations and advanced fashion item search to customers.

I also continue to work in the School of Health and Related Research (ScHARR) as Study Administrator on the FRESH Street Scheme. The purpose of this early phase study is to develop and test the feasibility of an innovative public health intervention which aims to: (i) increase fresh fruit and vegetable consumption, (ii) encourage new purchasing, food preparation and eating patterns in the short term; and in the longer term, (iii) reduce food poverty and improve health outcomes.
