Prof. Felix Gers

Felix Gers completed his PhD at the EPFL (Lausanne, Switzerland) in cooperation with the IDSIA (Lugano, Switzerland) in the field of AI systems (recurrent neural networks with LSTM).

In a project on evolutionary neuronal structures at the ATR (Kyoto, Japan), he developed
the Cellular Automata (CA) based CoDi algorithm.

At the company Mantik Bioinformatik (Berlin, Germany) he programmed algorithms for the automated screening of substances for drug development.

In a computer game project at Bionic-Machines (Berlin, Germany), he worked on the AI and on a dialogue system for avatars. Technological core of the project was a real-time speech recognition of the player (SpeechToText), their processing by means of the dialogue system and the generation of a spoken response (TextToSpeech).

At the KI-Team Berlin, he dealt with the automatic classification of 3D LaserScan data applying deep Neural Network (NN) models.

Felix Gers has been Professor of Multimedia Development at Beuth University Berlin in the Department of Computer Science and Media since 2005.

You will find current projects and publications on his Beuth University homepage.
